Overall very good vacation. Location is very convenient to restaurants and activities. Access to the beach is perfect. We rented Ike’s chairs and were happy we did.property is as pictured on the various websites. A tad worn but not much considering it’s a rental.spacious. Never really used the kitchen much so can’t comment on that. Elevator went out once but was fixed hours later. We would rent again.

Very close to our favorite restaurants. Weather was good, just windy at times. Definitely will be coming back here to Ocean House. Management at gulf shores rentals is very easy to work with.

Great location for shrimp festival, we walked to it each day and didn’t have to move our car. Loved the oceanfront view. Will definitely be staying at this unit again future.

a guest from Sun City Ctr, FL does not recommend this vacation rental.

We stayed there the week of 4th of July so we paid a very hight rate and it wasn’t really worth it.

Cons: This condo was very dated and the couch was pretty uncomfortable because there was plywood under the cushions. The kitchen was also very limited in what you had to cook with. And this place needs a deep clean for sure, there is built up dirt in ALL the corners and the showers need to be cleaned! The shower head also fell off because it was TAPED on but it was fixed the next day. The air conditioning also kept shutting off because the drain needed to be cleaned out. And it would usually happen the most at night so it was pretty warm in there.

Pros: it’s right on the beach, had a nice pool, and was pretty large. Also the beds are comfortable and so were the pillows. They also gave you a good about of bathroom towels.

  • Manager Responded on 9/1/2024

Thank you for your review. We sincerely apologize for the unpleasant experience this guest encountered. Gary C from Grove City, OH recommends this vacation rental

Our unit was wet large and nice and open. Beautiful views of the Gulf of the back balcony and of the sunsets and intercoastal off the master balcony. We only have a couple of issues with this unit: 1, the shower in the bathroom off the living room, does not drain, at least while in use. 2, the ice maker does make ice, just not very much or very quickly.
One other issue, while not related to the unit itself, is with the parking passes. I don't mind paying to park, but for us to pay the same amount for 4 days, as someone that is staying for 2 weeks isn't right. The amount should be prorated somehow.

Other than that, I would highly recommend this unit and would gladly stay here again.

Jimmy J from Tuscaloosa, AL does not recommend this vacation rental.

WEVE STAYED AT OCEAN HOUSE CONDO THRU GULF SHORES RENTALS FOR YEARS NOW. WE LIKED TO STAY TWO WEEKS AT A TIME. SOMETIMES MORE WHEN WE CAN GET IT. WE LIKED IT MORE THAN ANY OTHER CONDO WEVE STAYED IN BUT THE LAST THREE VACATIONS HAVE BEEN NIGHTMARES. SOME ELEVATOR PROBLEMS, 3 YEARS AGO THERE WAS A SHOOT OUT BETWEEN THE POLICE AND A GUY WHO THEN JUMPED TO HIS DEATH FROM THE 8TH OR 9TH FLOOR COMMITING SUICIDE. WE WERE FORCED TO STAY IN OUR ROOM FOR THE HOLE NEXT DAY DURING THE INVESTIGATION. LAST YEAR HURICANE SALLY WAS COMING IN AND NO EVACUAION ORDERS WERE GIVIN WHICH MENT WE WOULD LOOSE OUR MONEY IF WE LEFT EARLY. SALLY TURNED AND CAME INTO GULF SHORES. NO POWER AND NO WATER. TWO DAYS LATER AFTER THE WATER OVER THE ROAD WENT DOWN THEN WE WERE ASK TO LEAVE. OUR VEHICLE HAD ABOUT $6,000.00 in body damage. WE WERE ONLY REIMBURSTED FOR THE TIME LEFT ON OUR STAY AFTER WE LEFT. THIS YEAR WE MADE RESERVATIONS TO GO BACK TO OCEAN HOUSE BUT AFTER IT WAS TOO LATE TO CANCEL AND GET OUR MONEY BACK WE GOT AN EMAIL FROM GULF SHORES RENTAL SAYING THAT THE POOL AND POOL AREA WOULD BE CLOSED DURING OUR STAY. DUE TO SAND IN THE POOL AND POOL AREA AND NO REIMBURSEMENTS WILL BE GIVIN. WE DECIDED TO GO ANYWAY BECAUSE WE DIDNT WANT TO LOSE OUR MONEY. THERE WERE DAYS THEN NOBODY WAS WORKING ON THE POOL AND DAYS WHERE ONLY 1 OR 2 WERE WORKING. VERY DISAPOINTING. WE LEFT TWO DAYS EARLY.
WE KNOW THAT GULF SHORE RENTAL CAN'T CONTROL THE WEATHER AND EVERTHING ELSE BUT WHEN YOUR PAYING RENTAL FOR A COMDO AND YOUR MADE TO STAY IN YOUR CONDO FOR CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATIONS, FLOODED ROAD WAYS AND NO POWER OR WATER, SAND IN THE POOL AND POOL AREA AND THIS HAPPENS FOE THREE VACATIONS IN A ROW GULF SHORE RENTAL SHOULD HAVE BEEN MORE WILLING TO REIMBURSE US FOR THE TIME WE COULDNT USE WHAT WE WERE PAYING FOR. WHEN I TALKED TO GULF SHORES RENTAL ON THE PHONE THE PERSON I WAS SPEAKING WAS FRENDLY AND RESPECTFUL BUT COULD NOT HELP.
ITS TIME TO JUST MAKE DIFFERENT PLANS.

  • Manager Responded on 10/12/2021

We are sorry to hear of this guest's past experiences. He is correct that we cannot control police investigations, hurricanes, and the crew an HOA hired to fix the pool which was recently down due to another Hurricane. The guest, even knowing the pool was down due to our prompt communication, still chose to come because Gulf Shores beaches cannot be beat. We want everyone's vacations to go smoothly and we do our best to provide the best guest experience possible. These things can unfortunately happen with any rental company in the area.

Forty-five trips to West Beach of Gulf Shores and this is the best for size, comfort, location, decor, and price.
One should get this when availible.
Off the smal, two person balconcy, you can watch the full sunset.

We had a great visit to Gulf Shores. The place was clean and perfect for our group! The balcony is such an amazing spot for sitting and hearing the waves and even enjoying watching the “wildlife”. Location is perfect for walking to restaurants or a short drive. Great beach stay!

Great family spot! Good location and great beach access. The kids (ages 5 and 9) loved the pool as well and could get up to the room and back without our help. All and all a great spot for our first time to Gulf Shores.
