Surf Side Shores #1604 is an interior gulf-front 2 bedroom 2 bath condominium located on the 6th floor in building I overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. The unit is approximately 820 sq ft with views of the gulf from the living room and gulf-side master bedroom. The condo has a fully equipped kitchen with a washer and dryer. There are 2 full baths with either a tub/shower combo or a stand-alone shower. The gulf-side master bathroom is accessed via the bedroom and hallway. The street-side bedroom has an attached bathroom with a stand-up shower. The condo boasts 2 king beds and a sofa sleeper in the living room. King, King. Sleeps 6.

Surf Side Shores I and II are 9-story buildings with 6 units per floor located 1 mile West of Highway 59 in Gulf Shores. Surf Side Shores has two beachside pools, one of which is an extended season pool, and a small kiddie pool. The property also has a grilling area that services buildings I and II. 2 car limit. Stays longer than 30 days must purchase parking pass(s) for every month.

  The condo was great! Good location and easy parking. Beach was beautiful and easy to access. The unit was very clean. I had a couple of issues that kept me from giving 5 stars. First, the sheets may have been the worst I've slept on anywhere. Second, we had a dehumidifier in the unit upon arrival and at some point on our 2nd day while we were out on the beach someone entered the unit and took it without notifying me they would be entering the unit. I assume it was someone from the rental agency but it felt very unprofessional.

  I spent the week with my two teenage sons and we had a wonderful relaxing time. Being RIGHT ON the beach was a great change for us. We had been to Gulf Shores twice before and stayed across the street on the Lagoon side. Even though it was close, we still didn't go to the beach much then because of having to haul all our stuff across the street. This was so much better. So easy to be right down there. The unit had all the small appliances and utensils we needed including a vacuum which was invaluable because no matter how hard you try, you are always bringing sand in with you. The beds were fairly comfortable, more on the firm, not plush, side. Pillows were a problem. There were not enough pillows in the unit. There were no extra pillows for the pull-out sofa. The bathrooms need updating. Showing wear and rust spots but otherwise ok. Make sure to bring your own beach towels. Even though it isn't mentioned in the listing, they do have a Keurig coffee maker which was nice. I would stay here again.

  Stayed in same condo 2 years ago and loved it which was why we requested it again this time. What a difference 2 years made! The most concerning issue involved a potential health issue which the rental company would not resolve during our time there. The dampness/moisture in the condo, especially the second bedroom plus the musty/mildew odor was unbearable at times. Our clothes and other objects were constantly damp. We were in contact with Gulf Shores Realty almost day for that and a couple other issues. Great lack of communication when following the steps to report problems. No call backs, we had to keep calling. They left us in a bind over the weekend by not calling back. Supposedly they tried to get ahold of owner without results. We feel someone—either the owner or the rental company to offer some monetary compensation. If no response, we will contact the BBB, the health department, realtors assoc, and/or tourism board so that someone takes responsibility for something. Both of us have respiratory issues (COPD, asthma) and the air quality in this condo is a risk for persons with these health issues.

  This unit is a 2BR, 2BA unit on the 6th floor in building 1 and it has an excellent oceanfront balcony view and is directly over the pool. The unit is across from the 6th floor elevator which was great for my disabled wife to help her accessibility. The unit was clean and the kitchen had lots of utensils if you want to cook. The coffee pot uses the K-cups so no need for filters and ground coffee. The LR has a huge flat screen TV. The bedroom oceanfront is a King and very comfortable. Overall an excellent unit but it does have some negatives. The WI-FI was locked and inaccessible. I didn’t contact anyone to see if there was a password but there was none given or shown in the paperwork or premises. The 2 bathrooms have only 1 vanity each so you and your spouse/partner will have to share the one sink for both bathrooms. Since it was only me and the wife I used the bathroom in the first bedroom as you enter the unit. The bedrooms had very small TV’s if you were laying in bed watching Television. Also the 2nd bedroom bathroom had the hot and cold faucets were reversed for both the sink and shower. It took me a couple of minutes to figure it out since the label on the levers are backwards. No big deal just note this if you book this unit and it hasn’t been corrected. The beach access is excellent and the pool was great. The property was clean however the men’s restroom door at the pool would not lock and needed replaced. I reported this to the staff. Overall it is a great place and I rate it highly but it could be a little better. I would stay here again because of the beach accessibility for my wife and location in Gulf Shores.

  Was disappointed. Our stay in this unit 2 years ago was immaculate, however, this time there was a lot of peeling paint, leaky faucets, dirty and musty smelling furniture, wet spots on our bed that soaked all the way through to the mattress, and the pool was nasty. We do not plan to stay here again.

  From the moment we opened the door and saw our cozy, beautifully decorated, inviting home away from home for the next 7 days and up to the time we had to say goodbye, it was such a nice stay for my sister and me. The view from the balcony was breathtaking, the parking was safe , the location was perfect. Gulf Shores made it easy to check in and out. When maintenance was called someone was there within 10 minutes. The only drawback was that we thought it was a non-smoking facility but people were smoking around the pool, leaving cigarette butts on the ground and there were others smoking on their balcony with the smoke blowing up to our balcony. Would definitely stay in the same condo again.

  We had a great experience at the beach. The corona virus did not inhibit our ability to social distance yet enjoy the beach and local restaurants. The weather was perfect, staff at the condo were extremely helpful and johnny on the spot for any issues. We thought the coffee pot had died and in no time they brought a new one up. We later discovered that it was simply a tripped safety breaker on the outlet.
