Ocean House 1501

Ocean House #1501 is a east corner gulf-front 3 bedroom 3 bath condominium located on the 5th floor in building I overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. The unit is approximately 1300 sq ft with views of the gulf from the living room and gulf-side master bedroom. The condo has a fully equipped kitchen with a washer and dryer. There are 3 full baths with either a tub/shower combo or a stand-alone shower. The gulf-side master bathroom is accessed via the bedroom and hallway. The street-side master has an en suite bathroom with a custom tiled shower and the middle bedroom has an attached bathroom with a stand-up shower.

King, Queen, Queen, Queen, Sofa sleeper. Sleeps 10.

Ocean House I and II are 9-story buildings with 6 units per floor located 1 mile West of Highway 59 in Gulf Shores. Ocean House has a large seasonal zero-entry outdoor pool and a small kiddie pool. The property also has a grilling area that services both buildings I and II. Minimum age required: 23

Parking passes are purchased on-site at Ocean House at the guard house or office located in building I - CASH ONLY. There is a maximum of 2 parking passes per unit and the cost is set by the association and is subject to change at any time without notice.

  Great location, clean, beautiful furnishings. But the toilet in the master needed repairs. The dryer wouldn’t work until my husband rigged it with cardboard to keep the door shut. Other than those things, we enjoyed our vacation.

  This was a dream vacation for us as we had never been beachfront, and it was so much better than we ever could’ve imagined. My kids were nearly in tears when they went out on the balcony and saw the view. It was stunning absolutely everything we had ever dreamed of the condo was clean had cute decor was functional, plenty of space for my husband and I and our four children to a spread out and it was great for them to each have a bathroom with their bedroom! It was in such a great location close to all the fun eating places, Orange Beach the wharf! One of our favorite vacation places! The pool was awesome and it was great to be that close to the beach and have a pool right there as it was hot! We definitely want to come back again. Our only issue was the main shower drain was clogged but maintenance came immediately after I texted and fixed that right away and then the dryer did not function correctly as a switch was going out maintenance came right up and checked that but they were not able to fix it while we were on site, it still worked, It was just very tricky and touchy to get it to work. Highly recommended. We have 4 kids age 11-21 and this was perfect for us all!!

  This was a pleasant stay considering. The unit was showing wear with several issues. Larger coffee cups to hold the Keurig smallest cup would be appreciated and are needed. Every time we selected the smallest setting on the Keurig the coffee ran over the cup and onto the counter. Very frustrating. Next, the cooking utensils were old and didn't appear clean after washing. It rained several days during our visit, the tiles on the patio and throughout the apartment were very slick. Making rugs available in the bathrooms and door enters would have be helpful. Handicap parking was an issue during our stay. There were two available by the resident garage we couldn't use. Also, the speed bump located in the resident garage were a hazard. On bump was located by the walkway to the building from the garage. My 88 year old mother tripped over the speed bump and fell which resulted in a head, knee and hand injury. We spent a morning in the Emergency Room for MRIs and x-rays. I'm not sure why speed bumps are needed in resident parking since vacation renters are not allowed to use the garage. Not using the garage area causes overcrowding in the parking lot. Which seems wasteful.
  
  The new blue walkway to the beach was great. Also noticed the upgrade of the outdoor shower. Another good addition.
  
  The lounge chairs and furniture was older and needed a good cleaning.
  
  Ocean House is located well in Gulf Shore with plenty of restaurants and activities. We would like to return, but hope the garage hazard and pool furniture is addressed. Also, a refresh of the unit. Large coffee cups, cooking utensils, rugs, etc.

  You can NOT bring your own tents for the beach! We were vacationing with toddlers who needed protection from the sun, so we had to do beach chair and umbrella rental to the tune of $355.00 for 3 days! While we were unloading and carrying things to our condo, two chairs got left outside our door, and before we knew it, they had been taken to lost and found. My daughter forgot a very expensive baby monitor in their room, and after multiple attempts, we have yet to recover the monitor. However, the condo was clean, and in a great location. I’m just not sure we will vacation here again with all of the rules and regulations!

    Beach erosion is an issue the beaches are facing right now, so only single point umbrellas are allowed at this time. Beach restoration is due to begin in November of 2023. Everyone is more than welcome to bring their own umbrellas and chairs though, to avoid having to rent them. We did receive one phone call about the baby monitor, which was never found in the condo. We have an excellent housekeeping dept, which does turn lost items in, and then coordinates with the Lost and Found Coordinator in the main office. -Gulf Shores Rentals
